Hello!
My name is Deborah and I am a writer. I am writing to you requesting your stories about driving a truck and being on the road. The book I am writing will be similar to the Chicken for the Soup books. I need happy, sad, funny, mad, exciting and frightening stories. Don't worry that you can't write. I just need your experiences. It is my job to make them readable for the general public. No length is required. I am just looking for the stories. As to my history, my parents are truck drivers. My dad has driven for over 35 years and has worked for such companies as CFI, Sam Tanksley, American Farm Lines, Roadway, and too many others for me to remember. As I mentioned earlier, I am a writer. To verify my credentials, please visit my website at www.deborahbouziden.com. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this project. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Deborah Bouziden www.deborahbouziden.com

Hi, Deborah, Welcome to CAD!!
Something I need to point out to you.... There is a huge difference between a truckING story, and a truckER'S story. If you want to hear a truckER'S story, then just go sit at the coffee counter of any truck stop, and you'll hear plenty of them. Some of them may be believable, and a few may even actually be true!!

Very true indeed, Useless. It's good that you pointed out that defining information. :P There are several threads on this board that contain many stories from our drivers on nearly, a daily basis. Interesting articles. I also noticed that Deborah wrote the same thread in the "Women in Trucking" forum. There are some ladies that are in the Northern Territories. They have some stories to tell, I'm sure. They live, drive, and work in snow, ice, and extreme weather that I dont even want to imagine thinking about being in. By the way, do any of us drivers get some kind of commission for information, regarding your book? :| No, wait. Useless already defined the difference between a Trucker's story, and a Trucking story, so I guess that is out of the question :? :P

I could contribute a few stories, and would be willing to do so. As long as she is willing to emphasize the safety part of them. If people read her book and it teaches them things about safety on the hiway, it could reduce traffic accidents and help to make the hiways safer for us too.

Hello Truckers!
I already posted a reply tonight in the ladies' section. I'm sorry it's been so long since I've been on. My daughter fell off a step and broke her ankle. She couldn't be on it for a while and I became her 'slave'. She's back to work, so I am trying to catch up. Unfortunately, there is no renumeration for truckers who offer up their stories. I will give credit where credit is due and as far as the safety aspect that will be presented to. For further explanation about this book, it is to be similar to a devotional. Oh, I know what else I could use from you guys. My editor wants me to put some restaurant reviews in the book, so if there is some place special you guys really like to eat, I'd like to know about those places as well. Since I will be giving credit where credit is due, I will need to know real names, home locations (not addresses, just city and state) and company you drive for. I gave my email address on the ladies' thread, so I will give it here as well. For those who would like to email me, my address is [email protected]. You can also email me off my website, which is www.deborahbouziden.com. Some of you may want to check that out. It will prove I am legit. Also, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am going to try and check this thread daily now. Tomorrow, My grandbaby will be spending the night, so I may not make it on then. Know my parents are truckers. I am sensitive to your plights out on the road. They are one of the reasons I am writing this book. They have wanted me to write one about truckers/ trucking for over ten years now. I finally found a project I feel is worth doing, so.... Once again, thanks in advance. I do have a question. I tried to pm one of the drivers, so I could get his email, but the system here wouldn't let me. I wanted to ask if I could use his story and get some details. Could someone tell me how to bypass the system, so I can get in contact with him? The message said I had to have 50 posts or something like that. Would it work if I went on the message board and requested so and so email me, then give a list of people I'd like to talk to? Just brainstorming. Your thoughts please. Deborah www.deborahbouziden.com

![]() I'm nervous about this renumeration. I still may want to have puppies one day. If she meant...remuneration...that might scare off some of our parolees. Especially guys with 2 strikes already. :?
