You're not a sailor and you're not a trucker, that sums it up right there. This forum is a place for us to blow off steam, if you dont like it GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Yes, I am neither a sailor nor a trucker, but you can blow that out your tailpipe. You obviously can't read or else you would have known what I was saying. Yes, this is a place to blow off steam. Every forum is a place for the people who are registered to blow off steam. And that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about all the people out there that tell every single person interested in becoming a truck driver to go flip burgers and you will get more money and be home every night and sleep in their own bed. They think that every person who comes on here that isn't already a trucker wants to be home everynight just because they are homesick. I get tired of reading the same responses over and over and over. "Get a different job", "You don't get paid crap for the hours you work", "You will be away from home for a few weeks before you can take a day off at home" and other such things.
And you obviously didn't comprehend that it was my FATHER that was the sailor. So, this affected me personally. Yes, no one forced him to join. No one forced him to remain. He put up with the 6+ month long cruises overseas and never complained about being gone that long. My mother, nor me and my siblings complained. No one forced you to become a trucker. No one is forcing you to stay. You chose it. You chose to be gone for only a few weeks. You chose to work 60+ hours a week for 35,000+ a year. Suck it up and get over it. I am not complaining about the whining that is on these boards. Blow off steam. It's healthier for you to do that. Start a thread where you complain about being gone from home for 3 weeks. I don't care. But stop assuming that every single person who wants to get into this line of business is the same as you. Not everyone wants to be home every night. Not everyone has a family. Some people might actually like being gone from home for long periods of time. Some people might actually like OTR trucking. Are you really having that person's best interests in mind when you tell them to find a different job other than trucking? Or do you have selfish reasons behind it, because every new person that gets into trucking will take away your freight? Instead of telling the person to get into a different line of work, ASK the newbie if they can handle being gone from home that long. ASK them if they are willing to work 60+ hours a week to make $35,000+ a year. Asking goes a lot farther than telling.

Fox,
Don't hate Humans because a couple people don't agree with you or razz you alittle. The fact that you make the atempt to help or rather encourage others to be thankful shows you don't hate people. Someone who hates people wouldn't have gave a chit. So dislike a few but realize that there are people that you agree with. Merry Christmas and I am very thankful my husband is a trucker and if he went military.....well I don't know. Thanks for your post. |
