Default Extreme Home Makeover

This has absolutely nothing to do with trucking, but I think it's freaking incredible.

You all know the show: they find a family that desperately needs a new home. They ship them off on a vacation, demolish the house and build a completely new one.

Well, they're doing it in my home town this week. Mind you, my home town has maybe 10-15,000 people living in it, so this is a HUGE thing happening.

They started on Saturday by demolishing the house with a coal-mine scoop - basically it's a bulldozer made for the mines.

The house was built on Sunday and now they're working on the interior. The house will be finished on Thursday.

If my knee wasn't hurting so much I'd go volunteer to help.

That is incredible. Related but not the same, I used to live down in Palm Beach County, Fl. A bunch of contractors got together and built a 4 bedroom house in like 10 hours. They were shooting for 8, but hit a snag. There was no basement, but they had concrete that set up in an hour and they poured the footings and slab. It was ready to move in when done. It was quite amazing. There were something like 200 people working on it at the same time. This was about 20-25 years ago before the building codes tightened up.
