Default What truck stops are charging for parking?

What truck stops are charging $ for parking and what is their policy? Min fuel or store purchase etc and did you feel safe there? So far i have found charge at Dallas pilot i20 x470 50 gallon min purchase park for free otherwise $5 for 10hours and the place was jumping in the daylight with underworld activity.
Nj TA I 78 x7 $12 park first 2 hours no charge if you can do just 2 or 50gallon min fuel or $20 reciepts spent@ TA.I felt safe. But due to pilot small truck stop next door it took an hour just to get fuel there. The TA was all open for fuel but my company has an agreement to fuel piolit exclusively. :!:

New TA in Laredo...

2 hours free.

24 hours free with gallon fuel purchase.

24 hours free with $20 store purchase.

Otherwise it's $12 to get out. :x

They built a new TA down there?! I remember when they built that flying J across from the pilot over there off exit 13,and the pilot used to charge but once the flying j was finished they stopped charging.Where is the TA located ?

In my OTR experience the "pay to park lots" where always the worst. After a while I just figured if there are other people parking here it can't be too bad? When I did park in a bad place I didn't get out of the truck, I would make sure I had everything I needed for the next 10 hours or how ever long I thought I might be there. I also used a ratchet strap on the inside door handles so the doors could not be opened even if someone had a key to the truck and I kept several item close by that could be used if needed in a self defense situation.

Last winter when I was on the road with JB I had my only bad experience in a truck stop. I was outside of New Orleans in a small truck stop (couldn't tell you where now) but every 5 minutes someone was banging on the side of the truck. "got some change"..... "can I have cigarette"...... "I'll give you a [fill in the blank] for 20 dollars". Needless to say, I left the next morning tired and $60.00 poorer but with a smile. JOKE

(I only stayed long enough to find a couple extra hours in the log book and I was out of there). I usually preplanned pretty well and mostly stayed in places that I knew where decent places.

Same side of I-35 as the J.

Get off exit 13, turn right, J on left, TA on the right.

Can you believe the T.A. already looks old to me and it's newer than the Flying J? They must use recycled materials. I can't believe people pay but I think it's because the other two truck stops fill up so fast. 8)

if you are in the northeast ( new england ) most truckstops charge and there are plenty of them that are dumps.
