Computer Aircards (i.e. Sprint, AT&T, Verizon)
Heads up everyone!
If you have a Sprint Aircard or any other provider for that matter, check you bills closely. Since I activated the Aircard 2 months ago, I was being billed for Anytime minutes. Research found that they were incoming calls from the numbers previous owner, that were going to voicemail. VOICEMAIL, I said, it is a data card!
Well, it seems, all accounts, regardless of type have the voicemail feature activated. I had requested originally that it be turned off, since the use was strictly for my computer. It had not been, so over the last two months I had been charged $25.40 for incoming minutes.
3 phone calls, equalling about 2 hours on the phone, and I finally got everything resolved. Credit on the bill and the Tech Support people finally figured how to deactivate the voicemail feature.
So check your bills and minutes - incoming calls coming into an aircard should not be there. I just wonder how much money Sprint and other providers have made on this so-called mistake over the last couple of years.
BTW, the card works great - much better than having multiple WiFi accounts - it stays active even while going down the highway. Have used it for weather updates and traffic very reliablely.
