I don't know if I'd characterize the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) as "left of center". If you check their membership list, while you'll find names such as Bill Clinton and John Kerry, you'll also find names such as GHW Bush, Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Dick Cheney, Alan Greenspan and Donald Rumsfeld.

Membership list:

http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/cfrall1.htm

And a little background wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council...eign_Relations

I would actually characterize them as being right of center, given their membership of big business types.

And as far as conspiracy theories go, do I believe rich, powerful people might want to set the table to more efficiently harvest whatever wealth is available to be harvested from us, the less than rich and powerful?

Perish the thought.

Luckily, it's been pointed out to me that only tin-foil hat wearing nut-jobs would ever dare to believe that the rich and powerful might want to become even more rich and powerful. And that they might do so without telling us (the great unwashed) about their desires and plans. And that they might recruit politicians to advance their plans.

How could I have been so crass as to doubt the good will of these exemplary people?

Never again will I doubt the kindness and caring of the Kenneth Lay's and Dennis Kozlowski's of this world. Never again will I think that $6000 shower curtains, $2.2 million dollar birthday parties, and $100 billion dollar fleecings of loyal workers and the citizens of California are anything but in my best interests.

From where the sun now sets, I will wear my tin-foil hat no more, forever.

Some people just feel its easier to be disruptive that to actually inform themselves.

Sounds like Juan is pretty ignorant of his own country. Mexico has laws granting foreign nationals rights under the Mexican constitution. Foreigners are able to use IMSS hospitals and foreigners CAN own property in Mexico with some limitations (not within 50 km from any border or 100km from the coast.).

There is no doubt that there are many forces (people in high places) attempting to have a NAU.

I very much doubt that Senators and others in politics would waste their time and effort putting bills and legislation together to stop such a union if it was not an issue.

The main issue with some is if it would be good or bad for this country. I am against it and I believe it would be harmful for this country and it would change this country as what it was. Those that are for it will yell tinfoil and then horse and buggy days when you bring the issue up.
