Default Flooding

Well, this weather is weird! It's usually 100 degrees by this time of year. This year, we have had a jillion gallons of rain. :P It is something else. We havent had a week's worth of clear days this month. Here is a link to some photos from our local newspaper.

It certainly is crazy. Since I was posting them elsewhere I thought I'd post pics here as well, and since you already started a thread I'll stick with it.

This is my front yard, with our minivan in the driveway on Tuesday. It doesn't stay that bad, just drains down the street into the park behind us.

This one was taken this morning, from the edge of my backyard fence, looking into said park...

And this one shows just how deep it is, as what you can see are the tops of a swingset (if you look careful) and a monkey bars/slide combo which you can only see the roof of now.

It's just the opposite in West Virginia. We're about 7" below normal for the rainfall for the year.

Gee, been hearing about all that rain here at home, been in Colorado and Kansas where it has been dry, got home today and went to Lake Kickapoo, someone actually added water to it while I was working I haven't seen this much flooding here in 20 years or so!

I almost got stranded in South Coffeyville, OK. I was stopped at the border of OK and KS, six miles short of delivery. Flood waters were 6 to 8 feet over the highway. I spent the night there waiting for someone to tell me to go to Joplin to drop the load. I finally got the go ahead the next morning. All the roads were closed. I thought for sure I would be stranded for the next 3 or 4 days. I finally found a way out.
