The 64-ton tractor-trailer involved in the crash was 50,000 pounds overweight, had faulty brakes and worn tires, Suffolk police said. Its driver barreled down Horse Block Road in Yaphank, ran a red light and slammed into Ezzo's Nissan Maxima, killing him instantly.

The truck's brakes failed as it came downhill to a red light at the intersection of Horse Block Road and Woodside Avenue, police said. The driver, Edward Wedelstaedt, 40, of Bayside, was issued several summonses

Man, that is sad. It's getting pretty bad for the teens these days.

I heard on FOX News the other night that the leading cause of death for teens is car accidents. Sad news.

There's a commercial on TV right now, and when I heard it, I was shocked.

Every year 6,000 teens get in a car and drive away from home.... NEVER to return! (or something like that.)

6,000 families DESTROYED every year when they lose a child in a car accident! It's just insane!

Fozzy, I doubt the tickets are his biggest worry. They'll probably nail him for aggravated vehicular homocide.
