If the truck is registered for 25,999 he would only get a overweight ticket if the combination weighed more than 25,999. So the only way DOT would let him continue is to be only over weight by one pound, because if he is over 26,001 he needs a Class A CDL.

Not only would be ticketed for being overweight, he would also get a ticket for operating a combination vehicle weighing over 26,001 without a Class A CDL. That would be just like driving a tractor/trailer without a Class A CDL, which is a severe violation.

 

Hmmm. I was really hoping for an explanation on the overweight tickets and if they just let him keep on going with out a class A?
