Default 15% off at some Eastern Travel Plazas

I was on the NJTP today, and another driver told me that I could get 15% off on food by showing my CDL. I tried it, and sure enough - it's true. They are, however, changing over to a "card" system that you have to register for. A form can be obtained at http://www.hmshostcdl.com/

It asks some very personal questions, but it appears as if the card is tied to your CDL - when your CDL expires, the card expires.

Might be useful to some of you who travel the East coast a lot.

FYI, also, if you travel the Maine turnpike alot, they also give you a discount on most of the plazas. My take on it, is that it don't hurt to ask. My .02

New York State Thruway Travel Plaza's too. These plaza's are marked up anyway. Basically you'll end up paying what you would if you were buying it someplace off the toll road. At least that's my experience on the NYS Thruway

Ohio and Pennsylvania offer discounts also, just have to open mouth and insert the words, "Drivers discount".
