Default I 78 New Jersey Weigh Stations

I can't remember the last time I drove through there so I haven't seen the new scales. I keep hearing about them, though. Are they open? Are they not open? I get different answers. Here's this:

Bloomsbury East Bound Truck Scale

Bloomsbury West Bound Scale House

Westbound was open today. Traffic was backed up in the right lane for about a half mile before the scales. It's going to take an awful lot of tickets to pay for these new scales.

I don't use I-78 going westbound. There's a "TOLL going that way. When I leave Jersey, I leave by the only exit where there is no toll. And PA does very little with the rest area there too.

Actually you can get to i-80 that way, but IMHO those $13.75 ain't worth the trouble.
If you are on I-78, and need to get on I-80 into PA, take ex17, 31N to 46W, will get you on I-80 by the ex4 in NJ, that's the shortest way + you'll bypass the scales on I-78.
There is a few traffic lights, but since it's about 14 miles shorter vs i-78 to 33N, takes about the same time.

Still a toll that way and DOT hangs out at the toll booths. Sometimes with portables.

I didn't say it is "free", and we were talking about Jersey scales.
In PA, they could be anywhere!
