I was supposed to be back in Stl Mo tonight... Gotta love this weather, Also I believe texas was in no way prepared for this.. Seems like these 4 wheelers have never seen ice before... watching them slip and slideing in this parking lot. I just hope I'm out of here later today or at least tomorrow mourning.. Anyone know if Big Lots in Austin Tx has a Sloped dock. I wonder since in Granite City, IL where I live it is. If thats the case I may as well plan to be here for a long time

Been here for almost 26 hours others have been here longer..

Texas never is, and they never will be.

There are reports at least in the Dallas area that TxDOT is running out of ice melt.... the shipment that was supposed to come in today can't get here because of how bad the roads are

Same for austin, while i'm not sure of the road conditions, I do see traffic moving at about 25 mph. I would think it would be melting by now.

What do you get when you have Ice in texas? Well Among the several other vehicles to hit the trailer in front of me.. A Frito goes past I didnt have time to do anything he goes around the bend on the incline and lost traction and rocked the trailer, shortly there after a mexican in a p/u truck comes from the other side sees the Frito lay truck wrecked but continues on. He locked his brakes up and hit the guy frito truck a good one the trailer slides a few inches and now we have 4 cop cars here. Possible news crew on the way.

These people have no common sence.

You think that's funny, Tndieselgrl, but check this out.

The streets of San Antonio, Tx. have patches of ice, with some areas of accumulation of less that 1/4 of an inch if ice.

The news channel here is calling this "The Arctic BLAST"!!! :P :P Can you believe that??

They are also calling for more rain/freezing rain over the weekend. Tomorrow morning into the afternoon is supposed to be the only "clear" day all week.

Shoot, all the weather man has to do is mention snow, and everyone turns dumb. I was in the metromess this morning, and everyone was actually going 40 some-odd mph. Couldnt believe it. Still, you mention snow, and its crash up derby. :P

I remember being in Nashville a few years ago, and heard them saying that it was supposed to snow. They closed down the schools early, and had reports on the news that people were stocking up at the grocery store.

It didn't snow, and, in fact, wasn't even cloudy.

That sounds like here. The last winter stuff that came through here, they closed the schools the next day, when it was 45 degrees, and everything melted. Didnt even close when it was bad. :?

RIIIIIIGHT. I'll take 100 degrees in Texas over 90 degrees in Wisconsin any day.
Speaking for myself, I'd say that would depend upon where you are in Texas. El Paso???? Midland??? Amarillo??? Absolutely!!!

Now Houston??? Beaumont??? Much different story!!
