I'll do the happy dance when it's over, with all the bickering and appeals to the UN, it could be delayed or even reverted to life in prison.

That's right-we can be no part of it.
The Shia and Kurds are all gonna be doing the Happy Dance when his worthless neck is stretched.
Too decent...

I think they ought to bury him up to his shoulders in the sand and give every Shia and Kurdish man, woman, and child as big a rock as they can hurl 10 feet and give each their turn.

The UN has nothing to do with this...and who can "revert" his sentence to life in prison.....the Iraqis will do something right for a change.

I do not consider myself to be an advocate for the death penalty, nor am I a staunch opponent of it. I do believe that there comes a time when a heinous criminal gives up any right he has to occupy space on the Earth, or breathe the air around him. Surely, Saddam fits that bill.

When I look back on the many thousands of people who died under his reign, and particularly the children who suffered imprisonment and death under Saddam, his sentence of hanging from a rope seems like something of a lame cop-out.

True justice would be the slow, painful death that he brought to so many others. Personally, I see that perception as a weakness on my part, but none the less, it is there. I'm not a deeply vindictive person, but there is a vindictive part of me that shows itself at times.

Sadly, it is hard for me to see any real victory here. One oppressive tyrant is about to meet his fate, but his death will in no way put an end to the tyranny and oppression that is so pervasive in that troubled land. In the end, one group of people will still remain hell bent on hating and oppressing another group of people.

The last words of the song "We don't Get Fooled Again", which was recorded by "The Who" ring just as true today as they did back in 1971.

"I'll tip my hat to the new Constitution,
Take a bow for the new Revolution,
Smile and grin at the change all around,
Then I'll pick up my guitar and play,
Just like yesterday,
And then I'll get on my knees and pray.....
..... We don't get fooled again!!"

"Meet the new boss.......
.....The same as the old boss!!"

Just a few "Useless" thoughts!!

Any thoughts from anyone on how this will affect The American People's perceptions on President Bush, the war in Iraq, or the new political landscape on Capital Hill??

Violence from the Insergence is expected to spike. That is a given. We need to deploy more Troops quickly and quit screwing around. I wish that Bush and his Advisors would just go hunting with Cheney.

This was not some unexpected event. What is about to happen is no longer unexpected either. We just had two local families here loose a couple young Marines to roadside bombs. That is and has been on the increase. It WORKS for them...and dammut...this is BS.

As far as Soddom...he will only be truely missed by a few Sunni's. His cousin Chemical Ali is next to swing...hopefully soon.

Capitol Hill should be nervous. The American Public is watching very closely.

Not really sure what all the talk is about Saddam being hung by this weekend.

For decades, Saddam has claimed that he was hung.

According to his all of wives, he wasn't!!
