63 degrees outside...
with a nice breeze(9mph) and the trucks on either side of me are running. :?
i personally seen both go into the truckstop, one over 2 hours ago, the other about 45 minutes ago. of course, their both company drivers.
what a waste of money, sheesh!

On the new Volvos that Knight is buying, you can not idle them unless it is above 72 or below 35...unless you tap the gas peddle every few mins...

it's just amazing. i guess since they don't pay for the fuel, they don't care. the one driver gone for about 45 minutes came back and left, but the other one is still inside while the truck idles. i posted this almost an hour and a half ago, which means he's been letting it idle unattended for over 3 1/2 hrs.
BTW-the sun is now almost completely down, and i'm sure so is the temp.

That's actually not a bad range. Especially since Knight trucks have bunk heaters for when it's cold.

just as you have noticed this, there is probably a tree hugger somewhere at a T/S making note of these things as well......just giving more fire power to the stricter anti idle-laws

I like to shut down. I like fresh air, and having things quieter if possible.
I don't need cab heat or AC from between 85 and 40. I really like it best when I have fresh air...or I feel smothered.
Some of our Vehicles have APU's which really make things nice.
I have the noise and vibration from the Reefer. There have been times I've run the Tractor to help me sleep. If you have a noisy Reefer or a hard rocker...it can wake you up. We have a few old units, and they suck to sleep next to. The new ones are whisper quiet and have little or no vibration. I do like to use ear plugs too...so I can rest easy. Some neighbors can be very loud too. What gets me most is the guy that lets his air compressor constantly run and give the loud spew every 1 minute. Most of the time it's a stinkin gladhand gasket he's too lazy to replace. To me that's like water torture. :P
