IT's my iunderstanding there're very few GPS systems having software written for commercial trucks. Directions/routes have to be checked against a MCRA to ensure routing isn't on non-STAA highways and low clearances consulted. Once confirmed, some units allow route storage. BOL

I have a Roadmate 360 and it's accurate 97% of the time. It's the other 3% that can get you into a jam.
So, use the GPS as an "aide" in finding your shipper or receiver. You still need to check your route in a road atlas and call ahead if you can.

I just bought the Delorme system and plan on using it for navigation with my laptop. It seams to be very accurate!

The GPS by Garmin namely C330 has a setting in it for "truck" That being for RV's 12' clearance. Also I have been using COpilot by ALK since 2003 and have kept up with all versions except the last one. I had my Garmin C330 and my COpilot program which was running on my laptop working at the same time. The COPilot wanting me going down some roads clearly marked "no trucks" while the Garmin steered me away from that road. I use the Garmin everyday as an "aid" It has gotten me out of some real tough times none the less. Just my take folks.

I also have the Garmin c330 and it's set on "truck" too,,,,but,,,,it doesn't show you low overpasses or the weight limits on bridges. On the plus side it is about 98% accurate and, like Banditt says, it has gotten me out of some tough times.
