The election is over, they don't need to undermine the Republicans and the President for right now.
Not a bad conclusion

Um... don't you mean that the election is over and it's no longer useful to SCARE the heck out of the voting public in an effort to make them vote Republican??

The people have spoken, and they said they are no longer willing to fight the entire world just because Bush says they are ALL against us!

BTW, what happened with N. Korea is that THROUGH NEGOTIATIONS with China, we allowed ANOTHER country to put pressure on Jong Il to back down. It may be ugly at times, but it's called DIPLOMACY. And it has ALWAYS been the ONLY answer to troop deployments and body bags!

Really? How did that work for people like Neville Chamberlain and the people of Czechoslovakia? Diplomacy only works when there is a CREDIBLE military threat to back it up.

Giving up the land and lives of other people only results in the deaths of more of you own countrymen.

Well then.... since we SUPPOSEDLY HAVE one.... it should work for US... right???

Giving up the land and lives of other people only results in the deaths of more of you own countrymen.

Is that right? How many Americans have died over the loss of land and lives in Darfur?? Somalia?? How about Rwanda??? South America?? The Congo?? Liberia??

Oh I don,t think we,ll be banned for calling in to question the alleged illiteracy of anyone.....?
Wot, you know I am no fan of Dubya, but I no longer "pick on him" about his illiterate statements. There is a whole website or more dedicated to them and they have been termed "Bushisms." (google the word.)

Although his family denies it, there is ample proof that our Pres is dyslexic. Probably explains why he has "others" read the papers to him. I fear his THOUGHTS and IDEALS, because he is a dangerous man playing in a world he doesn't understand. But, I won't fault him for having a slight learning disability (as it is called.)

I DO find his Bushisms to be funny, and I can't help but laugh at the twisted statements and their unintended meanings..... but I no longer will laugh AT him or make fun of him over them.

There are plenty of OTHER reasons to hate him, or at least to hate that HE is our president. But, if he can be called "illiterate" it is not his fault. If you think about it... that is probably WHY he devised the "no child left behind" program, and why he cares as much as he does about education.

I neither had a go at him nor laughed at him Hobo, I think you misunderstood me.
The British press do not pursue every word of your president with the same fervour or vitriol that your own press do. Our boys and girls of the press hound Blair.
The entire thread was started to ask a question; Plain and simple. Nothing more.

Well... perhaps, I DID, Wot. (but, I don't THINK so.) It sounded like you wanted to know if Bush actually SAID something as illiterate sounding as, "IS our children being educated?"

I didn't SAY you were having a "go" at him. And I wouldn't CARE if you did! Forgive me if I sounded like I was chastising you. NOT my intention.

I was simply pointing out that, if you weren't aware of it, he has made MANY such "illiterate" sounding statements. I think they're funny! But, I, personally, have made a difficult decision NOT to mock him over them because I don't believe he INTENDS to sound that way. I have a friend with the same problem.

I didn't MEAN that YOU were, or shouldn't be, mocking him for it. Go for it! I was just giving you some background info.

I don't care HOW he SAYS "we attacked Iraq because some guy in Afghanistan bombed our towers." I just worry about the logic in that decision! (and others.)

I also responded the way I did because I noticed no one was really answering your question. I thought I would. Are we okay with that?

Actually, as to whether it is a true quotation or not.... I can't tell ya. But, it certainly SOUNDS like one of his "Bushisms!"

He has said some real "doosies!" As Governor Ann Richards (of Texas) once said about him, "He can't help it.... he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth!"

We O.K. now?
