If that had happened in The United States, the "victim" would be consulting an attorney, and filing suit against the manufacturer of the fire cracker. To make it even worse, he could easily wind up winning, or find himself on the receiving end of an out of court settlement!!

Yep...and the price of fireworks would go up because of the added cost of court-ordered butt protectors in every package.

No...unfortunately that is NOT a joke. The lawsuits over here have gotten quite absurd.

It's not just the USA. A few years ago in Canada, a judge awarded a cash settlement to a motorcycle rider that caused an accident with a truck... BECAUSE THE CYCLIST DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH INSURANCE....  (Was written up in the TRUCKER'S NEWS paper.

Apparently, the sue me-sue you philosophy is over here too.
The government have just had to give compensation to junkies in prison because making them go "cold turkey" is an infringement on their human rights.......Gordon bennett!!!!

Wonder if that would work with all the places that have jumped on the BANDWAGON with the "NO TOBACCO" rules? Probably not. You don't HAVE to work there. Not the same as being a prison inmate.
