Thats cruel.
Don't confront the guy, you'll likely only aggitate him. If its as bad as you say, your morals would tell you to report it to the authorities. I'm sure the wife/kids are too afraid to do it themselves. And yes, it may make things worse, or it may not.

If it was just his wife, I'd say butt out and let it be. I don't condone hitting women, but a single woman should have no excuse to stay. When kids are involved, it definitely complicates things. To understand the kids are getting hit makes this a bad situation. Does this guy brag about this, how did you find out? Is there alcohol/drugs involved?

Yes, you do.

Condone:
This means to overlook or forgive bad behaviour, or to treat it as unimportant; a woman is said to condone her husband's adultery if she continues to live with him as his wife although she knows what is going on. It can be used to mean 'agree to' (perhaps reluctantly), or 'acquiesce'. If using condone in this sense note that it implies a certain amount of shared guilt in failing to punish or prevent something.

You're right...everyone go beat their spouses

Look, sticking your nose in other people's business isn't always the best thing. In this case its best to blow the whistle on kids being abused, that should never happen. Maybe the mom is cared they'll end up in a shelter without a pot to piss in. Bad times

Well I couldn't stand it anymore this morning and when I went to work this morning I confronted him about it right in front of the boss he ended up coming after me but my boss stepped in front of him and pretty well took care of him (boss is 6'8" and weighs at least 350lbs all mussel), then my boss fired him and the guy took off so my boss called the cops told them what happened, sent me home to cool off but as I was driving home I go right passed his house and there was police car there with him in the back of it.

Good for you.
As far as "if just the wife was gettin' abused...'- get real; man, woman, child or even an animal, beatin' on anyone shouldn't be tolerated. And sometimes the ones gettin' beat-on have probably no place to go- or feel like they don't, or they are simply to scared or weak; and that doesn't make them any less of a person, some folks just don't know how or WHO to ask for help from. We're all in this world together, so we gotta' watch-out for eachother.

NascarFan you did the right thing. Any man who would do this is no man but a coward. But watch your back because a coward like this will come after you when you aren't looking.

I can't remember exactly where but didn't someone on this board tell a story about confronting a child abuser in public? Seems like it was Dr Who and it turned out the child abuser got his clock cleaned.
