Default MY HUSBAND DIED THIS MORNING AND I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE

This morning at about 1 am local time, my husband who was only 32 passed away at the wheel of the truck.

I am sitting here in Kingman, AZ and need to get back home. In my current state of mind I don't think I can handle the drive to St. Louis, MO.

Anyone out there who can help me get home, drive my truck, or at least ride with me?

I am devestated, and don't know what to do. Having my dog with me, flying may not be an option,

Anyone who may be able to help me, please, post here, call me at the hotel I am at 928-753-7500, room 112.

This is not a joke, anyone who could figure this out for me, please help me.

Dear Sabine, I am so sorry to hear this sad news.

I can't help you with getting home, since I'm pretty much house bound.

But I do want to let you know that I'm thinking about you -- and am sending you my sympathy.

That is awful- I'm truly sorry for your loss. That is way too young; I wish you well and I'll keep you in my prayers.

I am SO sorry for your loss, Sabine! I assume y'all were O/O and not company? I WISH I could help you.

This is probably a stupid idea, but local Temporary agencies probably have CDL drivers who could drive your truck home.

Are you a member of OOIDA? If so (and maybe even if not,) you might call them and see if they can assist in any way.

I will keep you in my prayers. Please keep us posted so we know you will be okay.

Hobo

Default Getting help

If I were in your situation I would probably reach out to a Chaplin at a local truck stop. Not only might he be able to direct you in a direction that is helpful it probably be a good idea to talk to someone who is experienced in situations similar to yours. I personally do not attend church but I would not hesitate to reach out to a Chaplin.
I wish I could help. Good luck in what ever you do and my prayers are with you

My heart just fell. I can not imagine handling this.
Maybe call the Bill Mack show of xm. 1-817-451-6055
The kids, Billy and April are on now, but I bet if that asked on the air, there would be many people to help. Our forum is really limited to get this request out.

You are in my Prayers. I wish I was in AZ right now to help you.

It has been my experience that even the least driver-friendly companies will bend over backwards in a situation like this. Are you telling me there are no drivers who are willing to step up to the plate and drive the truck (and your dog) back while you fly. Or to drive you and the dog?

Have you asked the company for help- to see if there is another o/o or company driver who can help with this?

My husband and I transported a friend's truck from California (where he had a 2 month long stay at Stanford medical center for a blood clot in his leg that nearly killed him- he's been on disability for about 2 years now) to Florida on the company's base plate etc. We weren't even leased to that company anymore- but they let me drive a truck that was essentially their truck- they owned the base plate and all the permits- but our friend owned the truck/title- not a lease/purchase).

I am home and my husband is in the SE. I am so sorry for your loss.

Try this guy. He's a bible thumping hateful bigot in my opinion, but he does have a pretty large resourse list to help drivers and their families in this situation.
