But hey you never know I might pull in a truck stop and hit a parked truck because I couldn't see it because the lights were turned off. Some times a 80 foot long 13'6 foot tall object is hard to see in a lighted parking lot? ............ And those disgusting Looking eye sore of a dash board with piles of paper, tobacco spit bottles, and maps. I think parking with your running lights on helps drivers get into the hole, because even in a parking lot that has lighting it can still be hard to see how close you are without something to give you an idea where you are at in the hole. I tend to get upset if someone is parked without their running lights.

Something that really ticks me off is when a 4-wheeler (or an 18-wheeler,
but most of the time it's 4-wheelers) aren't paying attention cause they're talking on their cellphones or whatever, they miss their exit, cut right in front of you, hit the brakes, and shoot onto the off-ramp. (Barely making it, I might add) That's happened to me more than once on I-35 in Texas. Always hope there's a smokey there to nail em. Also truckers who don't give a few seconds for their lane changes really get to me. They just turn on the signal and whip that trailer over. Also 4-wheelers who don't get some distance ahead of you when they pass but just get barely past your front bumper then cut over. Good way to get the word Freightliner imprinted on your rear end, ya know. But oh well, gotta deal with it, I guess. Comes with the job. Gotta make sure not to offend with my driving either.

I agree 100% with leaving your parking lights on when parked at night, no matter where you are parked at, be it a lighted truck stop, a ramp, a rest area, whatever. It gives someone trying to park beside you something to see to judge the space around them.
And, even in a lighted lot, the glare of the lot's lights in your mirrors can make it hard to see a trailer right besde you, even if the light is dead overhead of that trailer. What I hate is when I see trucks parked on a ramp (especially at the entrance end) and they have no lights on. That's an accident waiting to happen. The question really is, why is it a pet peeve for someone to leave their marker lights on when parked?

Truck stops like Pilot are on my list too. Fuel and go... FUEL AND GO... FUEL AND GET THE HELL OUT!!!. BUT... I ALSO NEED A PLACE TO PARK AND TAKE MY 10-HOUR BREAK IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL REGULATIONS... There are other services you can get at a Pilot... All you have to do is "BEND OVER AND SPREAD 'EM" in order to get it. Cold showers, heart disease, diabetes (from lack of healthy food), etc... In just 2 trips into a Pilot, I got $2,600 damage to my truck, and for one, I was there for less than 3 minutes to drop an envelope into the TRIP-PAK... And, Pilot is NOT LIABLE, even if the problem is their CRAMPED AREAS.

I did have an O/O pass me, this week, near Manchester, TN. I REALLY admire him. He had his own trailer, and it was lettered on the back door... GO AHEAD AND PASS ME. SMASHED CARS AND DEAD PEOPLE ARE ON SPECIAL THIS WEEK. And, all he had was "OPEN ROAD" in front of him.
