Default Covenant Driver on "To Catch a Predator"

I'm holed up in a hotel in Mission, TX over the weekend and last night on Dateline NBC's To Catch a Predator the nailed a Covenant driver trying to pick up a 13 year girl. He bobtailed up in his truck and everything. Dateline pixellated the company name, but any driver knows a new-ish Volvo with a blue and read stripe when they see it.

They also found cocaine in his truck. He had 11 previous arrests and/or convictions including a felony in the '90s.

So much for background checks, huh?

-p.

I agree that it's got to hurt the company. Think about a shipping agent watching it. Especially if it's a woman. How much freight will the agent give that company if it may be a pedophile picking up the load?

Question... Never having seen the show, I don't know, but are they targetting truck drivers? Or are they simply setting up for pedophiles and a couple of truck drivers came along? And, when is the show on?

No, truckers just happen to 'show up'- they are not targeting them. A few other creeps on that show have been school teachers, pastors and family-men (kids, wife, etc). It just amaizes me that a guy would even be dumb enough to show up at the house w/a semi!(let alone show up AT ALL!). A couple guys were even Repeats- knowing full-well that they were likely to get caught! One guy (and this is just sick beyond sick) brought his LITTLE BOY along thinking the kid could watch/be a part of it!!

That's crazy... Insane. And, we say we are civilized??? Kids need time to be kids. They do not need to grow up that fast. Becoming parents at that age is growing up much too fast.

They had a woman and her daughter on one of the talk shows a few years back. The daughter had been talking to some guy online, and when they went to Dallas on vacation, the guy got a room at the same hotel. After they checked in, the daughter went up to the guy's room. By the time the mother found her, it was all over, and the only thing they could do the 40 year-old guy was get him for child support because the daughter was over 12 years old.

Child support, fine, after you line them against a wall and shoot them. Use a shotgun and aim low.
