I am SO happy for you, Wot! Will you forgive me if I don't know it it was God or Science that spared his life? It shouldn't matter, as long as the outcome was good. Some say God doesn't get involved in each one's personal life. I say that God might be the embodiment of our personal beliefs. The fact that YOU believed, and more importantly, that YOU loved and CARED about your father is what drew to him (and you) the results you desired!

This is, indeed, wonderful news! Some say it is unbearable for parents to bury their children. I'm not so sure. They are WAY more mature than US, and prepared for such things in life. (regardless of OUR age.)

To me, it is far more scary to be a child who must face the mortality of those who gave him life, and have guided him throughout it. It is like a ship who loses its rudder.

Through YOUR trials, you made us ALL rethink our love for our parents. I'm sorry it was such a terrifying time for you. I am SO happy that you have been spared the torment you feared. How are you doing on the new formed bonding thing?

Yes, I'll thank God for your good fortune, and I will raise a toast of prosperity for you and your family. And I will honor YOU, as a man, for the way you have dealt with it.

And I will learn.... yes.... I will learn.

A more eloquent reply I could not have envisaged.
Thank You

You embarrass me, Wot! ops: ops:

I was expecting a less appreciative reply to what I said. I almost didn't post it, cuz I don't want to offend religious sensibilities. But... I wanted to share your joy.

My Dad is healthy as a horse, but someday soon he will just "stop living!" I'm REALLY not prepared for that. I have had a chance, in recent years, to grow closer to him. And for that, I am thankful! That is why I said what I did to you in your earlier thread.

I can guarantee you that, even in his hour of infirmity, he worried MORE about YOU than he did himself. That's what parents do. Do YOU have kids of your own? I don't... really.

Without a family of my OWN to be responsible for, I am dependant on my parents for "familiarity." [note the root word.] This is why I'm so scared about THEIR mortality.

But... what YOU have here, Wot, are FRIENDS. And when the time comes, I hope you will count on us. As WE will want to count on YOU.

But, thank God (or the power that IS) that it wasn't NOW! Every day above ground is a day of victory! Celebrate each and every ONE of them!

And while you're at it... realize that your significant other, if you have one, has the same human fears as you!

Bless you, Wot! You've been an inspriation to ME! May the road always RISE to meet you!

Hobo
