Default Where is the best place to live...

Where is the best place to live and be a driver? We are looking to buy a house in the future and I am willing to possibly relocate. I was wondering where we could get the most for our money as far as buying a house and taxes since Jeff makes the same money no matter where we live.

We live in Western PA now.

Hey, that's great. Now, all she has to do is pick out the places that have the most trucking companies going by. That way, they have a good place to live and a choice of nearly any company in the whole country.

I knew I saw a couple of posts that stated which states didn't have income tax but I can find that post.

We are looking for some place more affordable than where we live. By the time you add in taxes you are paying $200 more a month here.

Well when you look at the overall tax situation in any given state and locale you often end up paying the same if not more in states with no income tax.

All too often other taxes like sales, property, car liscening fees, etc are a lot higher to make up the difference.

In many areas your best bet for lower property taxes are smaller communites.

As far as a good place for a driver to live then that is pretty much anywhere in the middle part of the country within 30-40 miles of an interstate.

That would be say Ohio to Kansas, south to GA and then West to Texas and back up to MN.

Get away from cities by at least 30 miles. Where I live, houses are going for $300,000 to $1 million and you might get half an acre. Cost of living is kinda high here, so a lot of people struggle to make it from day to day even working high paying govt. jobs. I have looked at relocating to Ohio, just outside of Cincy since my wife is from there. Housing is really really cheap there and the cost of living is not too bad at all. The only reason we haven't is because I cannont stand living near a large city.
