What are you talking about?! King Diamond is the epitome of all that is metal! Children in underdeveloped nations drop dead at the mere mention of his name! Children in developed nations develop leukemia, and die slowly, at the mention of his name! :P
I'm quite a bit fan of 80s bands, particularly the NWOBHM and US thrash scenes - bands like Angel Witch, Witchfinder General, Venom, Candlemass, Carnivore, Possessed, Slayer, Mercyful Fate/King Diamond, Bathory, Iron Maiden, Diamond Head, (pre-s/t album) Metallica, etc.
I have a fair number of more modern bands I like as well, ranging from Theatre of Tragedy to Cannibal Corpse.
I'm quite fond of some of Mike Patton's projects, although I've always preferred Mr. Bungle over Faith No More. I liked the first Faith No More album, but didn't really care for any after that, aside from one song off the Angel Dust album titled "Midlife Crisis". I don't particularly care for the new Dillinger Escape Plan material with him on vocals, though.

This week is going to be nothing but Joe Satriani songs for me. Got to start the New Year right.
I hooked up my Ibanez JS1000 to a Weeping Demon, through a pedal board with Boss DS-1, Digitech Whammy, Fultone Ultimate Octave, Boss DD-2, through Marshall head with double bottoms, and finally routed through dual Chandler Digital Delays.
Started working out the final touches on "The Crush of Love."

On this Monday evening, I'm listening to all of Gary Allans songs that I've got on the 'puter (4hrs worth) while playing spider solitaire and checking this board from time to time.

I'm with you Bro. I'm a Rock guitarist, but I mix it up with both Country AND Western...and throw in Jazz 8)
to keep me from getting stale.
I'm finding myself adding those flavors to my Rock and it's ...Ahw shucks...like crazy man.
My favorite Jazz players...John Scofield, Jim Hall, Mike Stern, George Benson...just to name a few.
But this week I'm still saturating myself with Satriani.

Today I polished up on "The Mighty Turtle Head."
