I have heard this term used before in finance class in collage, but it may have other uses, GMAN is correct about spending and expenses, but let me
go over what the class taught. Living on the down low was a way of life,
you did not use credit cards to buy anything, only kept one credit card
for emergency expenses, you did not get loans for anything but a modest
house, and you took a good look at all your bills, you do not need all the
extras that the phone & cable TV offer and charge big for. You bought only
on sale items and used coupons as much as you could for what you did use. If you wanted something new you saved and paid cash for it. The class taught us to live on 70% of are take home and save the other 30%. Not at all easy in are I want it today society, but if you are tired of trying to keep up with the Jones or are buried in bills, how you spend your money and what you use it on may need a good looking at. Plus a big lifestyle change may be in order.
