Well my brother who has cancer is doing better. Chemotherapy has reduced the mass by 50%. He goes back for another evaluation later this month. His wife had a previous hernia go bad and had to go into surgery for it and won't be able to work for at least another 2 months.

My mother has been fighting scleroderma for a number of years and has lost half of her lung capacity due to the final stage pulmonary fibrosis. We have also learned that the doctors are predicting she has only 3 years left.

I know what your going through. My mom died of cancer a year ago. She always said that it was "In Gods Hands".. all through out her time. She always taught to "Live In The Moment", as it's all we really have. May these words comfort you.

Just to let everyone know the news on my brother is extremely good. In his words:

Quote: I met with my doctor last Thursday to review the latest cat and pet scans, but had some more questions, after reading the radiology reports, that could not be answered until this Tuesday.

For the moment I am cured of the cancer that I had.

The cat and pet scans showed no trace of cancer at the previously located metastatic sites or anywhere else, only evidence of an apparently inflamed lymph node near a kidney and more inflamation near the spot where the feeding tube was inserted into my intestine.

I will be on a three month cat/pet scan schedule for the next two years to monitor for recurrence, possibly less often after that.

So, fantastic progress after only 12 chemotherapy treatments.

And hopefully I will not need any more. But, I will have to stay cancer free for at least two years before anything after that can be predicted.

My hair is growing back, and I am no longer considered immuno-compromised, but I still need to get back more bodily strength and resilience.

Unfortunately, the word on my mother is not as good. What was reported to me as a minimum of 3 years left it turns out was not correct. It looks like she has up to 3 years left.

Thanks for your prayers.

Having overcome some serious health problems and stood by a wife surviving Ovarian Cancer, I know how you feel. Please consider having your brother look into a liver flush to cleanse the toxins from his body from the chemotherapy.
There is no end to the benefits of cleansing and flushes we get, but I will leave it to you and your family members to decide. Bless all of you.

Sorry to dredge up an old post but I did not want to spell those medical words again.

An update on my mother:
My dad sent me an e-mail saying that my mom is fighting a fever (he doesn't say how much) that is going op. Is throwing up and fighting nausea. They are concerned that she could get asperation pneumonia. All this on the eve of me and my wife going to orientation.

Prayer warriors I once again ask for help.

My Brother is at this point cancer free, but he is not due for another test for another 3 months or so.

Real quick update for everybody.

My mom's fever has reduced significantly. The vomiting and nausea has stopped and she is now able to eat solid food.
