    Default equipment for flatbed

is 12 straps and 12 chains good enough to strap a load?
what do you experience driver recomend be the norm for any given load.
I think I'll get tarps at a later time.

never had to tarp a load so I dont know much on where to start
    or wich tarps to get.

That should be enough for most loads. Most will only require up to 10. Unless you have tarps, you will lose a lot of loads. It basically depends on what you haul, but a 3 tarp set would offer some flexibility.

try searching "securement" and "fcmsa". It kinda depends on how many pieces you have and how heavy they are.

    Depends.

Coulld be zero. Many brokers will tell you it's in there. TMC pays it's drivers $10.

I try to get $50-$100 depending on the size of the tarp. If you make the tarp fee high, sometimes they will decide it doesn't need a tarp.

I'm assuming you know there are alot of other securement equipment that goes with your straps and chains? Binders, winches, bungies, V-boards, coil racks, mats, lumber, edge protectors.............the list goes on and on. I drive for TMC and we have a standard list for securement equipment. I find myself adding to that list all the time. On great time saver is a strap winder. They are cheap and save alot of time.

In addition to your 4" straps, get a few 2"X27' ratchet straps. These come in very handy at times.
