equipment for flatbed
is 12 straps and 12 chains good enough to strap a load?
what do you experience driver recomend be the norm for any given load. I think I'll get tarps at a later time. never had to tarp a load so I dont know much on where to start or wich tarps to get. |
That should be enough for most loads. Most will only require up to 10. Unless you have tarps, you will lose a lot of loads. It basically depends on what you haul, but a 3 tarp set would offer some flexibility.

Yep....gotta have those tarps!! :D
Tarping will make a man out of ya....and make ya more money!! Dont forget to charge for tarping!! 8) tootie |
try searching "securement" and "fcmsa". It kinda depends on how many pieces you have and how heavy they are.
|
what would be a normal tarping rate?
|
Depends.
Coulld be zero. Many brokers will tell you it's in there. TMC pays it's drivers $10. I try to get $50-$100 depending on the size of the tarp. If you make the tarp fee high, sometimes they will decide it doesn't need a tarp. |

In addition to your 4" straps, get a few 2"X27' ratchet straps. These come in very handy at times.
