Default What Do We Know About Gordon Trucking?

Hey everyone,

Now that my mind has been challenged with my initial thought of wanting to go with Swift, what do we know about Gordon? Please give positive and negative (but without too much bashing). Just really interested in the facts. Would like to know for instance how long on average one is out with them when working the 17 western states b/4 getting home; average weekly mileage for newbie; training period; DO THEY PAY ON TIME...Thanks in advance!

Going on third month with GTI and have been averaging 2300-2800 miles a week. I am on the 17 western states fleet and I am very happy with this company. Pay on time, every time and pay actual miles. From the ladies in the office to the guys out in the shop, you couldn't find a nicer bunch of folks. I'd say you can't go wrong going to work for Gordon.

Thanks for the response. Are you a new trucker? If so, how long was your training period? Any light you can shed on that topic would be of great interest. Also, how long on avg. are youout before you get home? This is my new favorite company.

Been doing this for 9 months now, but got my training with another company. They have been keeping me out 3 weeks approx. Their home time is a day for every week you are out, got 4 days home for 22 days out this time.

I have drove for them right out of school for a year quit went to other companies and went back to them they treat the drivers with total respect The whole company knows that they would not be in bussiness with oy the driver. I also trained drivers out of school there is no team driving bull for the student when the student is tired needs to sleep the truck is parked when the student is driving the trainer is up in the other seat riding. All in all IMHO best company to drive for. still has problems like any were else but when I am ready to go back full time be back with GTI.
