JBS Carriers announces retention bonus for 2015

Retention bonus to aid truck drivers company expansion

GREELEY CO (November 7 2014) – JBS Carriers announced a retention bonus program for truck drivers effective January 2015. JBS is once again leading the industry in driver compensation and staying ahead to face the challenges that a driver shortage might bring. Eligibility for the retention bonus is based on several factors but specifically allows regional and dedicated drivers both new and existing to increase their annual earnings.

“We believe to be successful we must first make our truck drivers successful” said Mike McQuade Director of Human Resources for JBS Carriers. “To combat the driver shortage and high turnover rates we must invest in those that are literally driving us as a company – our drivers.”

The need is great to reduce driver turnover. The Journal of Commerce has reported an annualized driver turnover rate above 90% for the past few years with that percentage expected to climb as driver pay remains below the U.S. average.

“JBS Carriers understands the sacrifices our drivers endure being away from family hours on the road etc. to keep not only our company moving but our nation’s economy as a whole” said Mike McQuade Director of Human Resources for JBS Carriers.  “We believe drivers deserve higher pay and want to reward them for their hard work and determination.”

Under the new retention plan first year drivers that stay with the company will earn $2000 over their first year.  Regional drivers who stay with JBS have the opportunity to earn up to $5000/year bonus depending on mileage and tenure while dedicated and specialized drivers can earn up to $3500/year bonus when staying with the company.
