Help Honor Veterans: Support Wreaths Across America

By Don Thornton Sr. Vice President of Sales & Business Development DAT Solutions

Once again this year DAT Solutions is doing its part to help support Wreaths Across America. This non-profit organization coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies on Dec. 13 at Arlington National Cemetery as well as veterans’ cemeteries and other locations across the country.

Last year DAT helped the organization coordinate the transportation of wreaths from Columbia Falls Maine to distribution centers in the Midwest and on to the Western U.S. by posting major shipments on DAT Load Boards. More than 50 DAT customers helped the effort–either volunteering to transport wreaths or sponsoring a shipment of wreaths. Nationwide Wreaths Across America delivered more than 500000 wreaths to 908 locations last year.

This year we again need your help. Carriers can help by delivering loads and brokers can help by covering the cost of a load. It’s a great way to say thank you to those who have given so much to secure our freedom.

The Truckload Carriers Association has a special website Truckload of Respect where you can sponsor a load or purchase wreaths that will be delivered to cemeteries. If you have questions or would like to assist in any way please email me.

ClassADrivers.com partners with DAT to offer a special on the TruckersEdge load board to its members. Sign up for TruckersEdge today and get your first 30 days free by signing up at www.truckersedge.net/promo146 or entering “promo146” during sign up.
