Hoekstra Trans LLC is a regional truckload carrier located in St. Anne, Illinois, which is 65 miles south of Chicago. Our operating area is within a 500 mile radius of the Chicago Metro area. Our average length of haul is 325 miles, we recognized the need for the short to medium haul services in the early stages of our business. We have been able to grow our business by concentrating our efforts in filling strategic lanes within the Midwest area. We have shippers and receivers in all the major metro areas in the Midwest and we look to move our equipment in the lanes between these cities. While paper remains a large part of our business, the niche we have found is in retail and grocery distribution center deliveries. While this sector of the transportation business may not be the most attractive to many, we have found it to be a challenge our people are willing to accept and conquer. We offer a trailer to tractor ratio of 8:1 which allows the flexibility to drop at customer locations for their convenience as well as keeping our power moving; over 50% Drop and Hook. Working in the short to medium haul range it is imperative that we minimize downtime and keep the wheels rolling for the drivers.
