Waletich Transportation is seeking experienced and motivated Independent Contractors to join our over-the-road (OTR) team. In this role, you’ll operate commercial tractor-trailers on long-distance routes, delivering freight safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Majority of our freight comes in and out of the Twin Cities in MN. We run MN down and over to CA, down to TX, the Carolina's, up the east coast a little bit staying away from NY and NJ.

As a key part of our dispatch team, you will be responsible for timely deliveries, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and representing Waletich Transportation with professionalism on the road. We provide consistent freight opportunities and operational support.

Duties

• Operate tractor-trailer equipment hauling dry van freight over long-distance routes in compliance with DOT regulations.
• No touch freight.
• Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including brakes, lights, tires, and load security.
• Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) for hours of service, mileage, fuel usage, delivery times, and route details in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods to various destinations while upholding safety standards and customer service excellence.

Requirements

• Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Minimum of 1 Year of over-the -road (OTR) experience
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations regarding hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols
• Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and routes across different regions

Truck Maintenance

• Independent Contractors can have their truck maintenance at our shop which we then bill through their settlement, due within 30 days of repairs.
• National accounts set up for repairs needed on the road. As soon as we pay the bill, the independent contractor will see that on their settlement.

Settlements

• There is no waiting period to get paid! We run settlements 5 days a week for our independent contractors.
• Independent Contractors are paid 82% of the brokered load, customer loads can vary.
