Cyanide, I have applied to work at Superior. I am currently an owner operator but I have sold my truck and before I buy my next and pay the money to outfit it with pump, ITH, and compressor I wanted to be a company driver for a few months to make sure I like pulling those tanks. I hope you don't mind I gave your truck number for a referral 8) . If there is some kind of bonus coming I figure you deserve it. Your thread is the main reason I am trying this. If there is a bonus by the way maybe we can meet at the High Point terminal some time and you can buy the barbecue 8) . I will be working out of Baltimore and it looks like they have some good paying work getting me out into the system. I like nice long west bound runs and they have them. Thank you for all the detailed and informative info you post here see you on the road.

I sold my truck because
1) the guy agreed to pay more money than I think it was worth 2) it was a condo truck and I want a midroof whether I stay in flats or pull tanks 3) the odometer was coming up on 700,000 and in my experience when you cross that threshold the problems get more expensive I took the company driving position because I think it makes sense to let the company pay for the training due to me being new to tanks. If I don't like pulling them I can simply get my new truck and go back to flats. I think I am going to love Superior and tank work but you never know. Why spend the money (and it is a lot of money) to set up the new ride with all the equipment for tanker work before I know I want to do it for the next twenty or so years. |
