I don't ddoubt u on the 15 k buyout

I was asking them about lease Pur for myself because I have always wanted to own my own trruck but was told

31 or 33 k
Which includes a carrier apu
Which cost them 9700 installed
And inverter package 1800 watt
Which was a cost of 800

So they have 10,500 in options added to the truck
If they told u

15 k buyout get it on email and in writing cause they told me the above cost

Roughly 31 k or so can't remember

They also said if you don't or can't finance truck you have to take another new one at turn in time so basically finance it or start in another new one which not end of world allot of guys stay lease and get new ones never buy due to tax write offs

Get with a good tax guy and they can tell u

But get it in writing before u go up there trust me on that always CYOA

Hi Kentucky,

I don't know yet what we are going to do, I am not rushing into anything. I am trying to make sure this will be a good decision this time.

There are no inverters on the truck, you can put one in, their shop will install it for you for about 25 bucks I think.

You do have shore power, when the APU is on, so unless you want to put a fridge in, you will be ok, as long as you only need it when stopped.

This is another thing I thought of. Take what I say however I want......but, if you were to use my name for a referral, I could get 50 bucks a month for up to 12 months if we are both employed there. I can't in good conscience do this to anyone, considering how I feel about them. It would be a lot easier to just hand out my name and truck number and start collecting money than telling you what has been happening to us, and why I believe I would come to work here, if I could do it over.

That said, I do wish you the best of luck. It may be the right company for you, or at least the right company for now.

I did talk to a single driver two days ago, who leases a truck. He said he had been there for 9 weeks now. Last week he made the first pay check. He had been out for 5 weeks and was beyond angry. He said he can't get over 2000 miles a week, and is struggling to make ends meet without money.

Merry Christmas!!!

After reading all that has been said here I am now rethinking my decision. I am not going to a company as a l/p for 2000 miles a week. Plus the different stories that vickie has given out kinda makes me worry. TransAm is my second choice may now be my first. The only problem I have with JCT is the second seat needs one year OTR and in 18months when my wife is able to join me she will be fresh out of cdl school.

I thought of trans am also

But heard they allot of meat warehouses which in return is wait time I have bbeen at. Meat houses 1.5 days in dock as most make load as u wait
Fresh

Not sure

What have u heard of them like miles etc

U no any thing bout shaffer which is owned by Crete

I assume vicki is your rec also
They are over whelmed with calls I just email her if I can find the email she gave. The pprices on I can forward to u if u want

Lots of calls and can't process a clean mvr 10 yrs experience and 2 jobs in ten years
Tells me this
1 they don't want exp drivers or quality
2 unorginazied (as Sabine said)
3 tons of turnover( to many to process)

I am rethinking also I have not accepted anything yet they have said they will 100 per offer though per vicki

I hear bill the rec is a strait shooter though not sure haven't spoke

If u are having 2nd thoughts do this
Think a few days
If not a move for you be sure to call and cancel orientation with them if not some ( not all) will DAC u for taking up class space etc not saying they will but like I said
CYOA

Get emails or writing everything before u go

kentucky24 12-25-2008 02:37 PM

Org

Have u thought about

Schneider national

They have schneider finance and can get a truck for owner spec and she could join u

Unless set on reffer good option

bigorangefan9999 12-25-2008 03:25 PM

I'm not really looking at dry van, i do flatbed now and that isn't the way to go right now. On one of the other boards there is a guy who is an l/p with transam and first week was 3100 and second was 3200 miles. He is new to their l/p but been an o/o before. So far all is straight up with transam according to him. Please email me same user name as here at yahoo. I told Vickie that I would come to class on the 12th but looks like I will be calling her back and cancelling. Like I said before JCT was my first choice but the one year experience needed for a 2nd seat was the problem. Transam told me that if the truck and color I wanted was available then I could be a company driver until one came available. I know I don't want a truck with alot of mile already on it. Unless it is a new truck forget it. That is the main reason for Henderson is that it is a new truck, but with no miles how can i pay for it and me. Henderson, JCT, and TransAm are the only 3 I really look at. Please email me any info you have. Plus I see very few Henderson trucks on the road, may just be where I travel and go.

Henderson has about 380 power units, most of our runs are from the Midwest to either northwest, or southwest.

I think the 15000 buyout sounds right.

kentucky24 12-25-2008 05:32 PM

don't blame u

Sabine if I do go after all said and done which I doubt it but never no

I will give u a refferal

I worked for Henderson for 1 1/2 years. I ran a local dedicated account. My dad still works for them and has for 2 years or so.

In my opinion they are a good company to work for. I know several people that ran OTR or regional with them that were very happy. They are getting a lot of new Cascadia tractors. Dads drove a couple of them now, said they are nice. I don't know anything about their lease purchase program, but I talked to a few O/O's who didn't buy their trucks off of them, and they were happy.

They start at .38 cpm, I don't know what the top out is, but its not .37. They do have APU's that are nice with shore power, they will let you put in an inverter (well, they put it in, but you know what I mean). You can have them take out any cabinets, etc. to modify your truck. They will even take out the passenger seat so you have more room if you so wish.

They do have some 48 inch sleepers, but they are trading in those for condo's Cascadia's. My dispatcher told me they weren't buying anymore small sleeper trucks because drivers didn't like them.

This is just another point of view for you. I liked them, I would work for them again. I moved to go back to college, so I quit them, but they told me they would rehire me anytime.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
