Having only been driving 2 years.. and talking to people here and there,
I am pondering...is trucking a cause of paranoia? .... or does it simply aggrivate our basic instinct for self preservation ? Definatley a strange line of work I have come to accept that i may show up to work and hit 'ready for dispatch' ... and simply be told i am no longer needed ...for no reason whatsoever... Like the uncertainty principal for trucking... Ya never really know  a TV camera installled in your rig ?... will it alter fate or destiny ? has it helped you out so far i am wondering ?...several people where i work speak of installing them into their rigs i am curious  |

The issue here is not strictly a matter of who was at fault, but also whether or not the wreck/accident was preventable on your part. Safety departments can use a very broad brush in determining that matter.

It sucks, but the rules are in place for 'them', not you and I. Good luck with it. |
Sorry this happened to you MAN. On the subject of leaving room in front of you it is amazing how many trucks you see barreling down the road
at 70plus right on someones tail , not only are trucks guilty but 4 wheelers more so. Anyway not ment to reflect on your accident but the post concerning the one second per ft rule was a subject I have thought about addressing on this forum before. |
I teach driver's ed (hopefully only for another month. I promised I wouldn't go anywhere until end of January. I burned 'em once before a little bit when trying another new career, so I kinda owe them since they took me back when it didn't work out) and one of the big things I preach is following distance. It's very, very tough to maintain those by the book following distances, be it care, bike, or truck, but damned if it isn't a helluva lot easier than doing an emergency manuever.
