He ran into an issue over the last week or so that we hope is resolved now. He has had absolutely no trouble with his fleet manager, however he's been "babysat" by night/weekend dispatch. They have been sending him messages on satellite and waking him up 30-60 minutes before he was even allowed to roll, then calling his cell phone if he didn't respond to the satellite. They called him 3 times while we were in the hotel room Monday night, 2 hours before he even had hours available to him to use. My husband got fed up with it after night dispatch left him 8 satellite messages and called his phone twice within 45 minutes time, and then tried to tell him they expected him to roll 30 minutes early "everybody does it". Since he was in Olathe anyway he took it up with the safety department, and talked to his fleet manager who said she would make sure it didn't happen again.
He found out in the process that his fleet manager is quite pleased with how he's been running, and sees no reason why somebody would feel the need to hound him :) That was good news.

Has anyone else had this problem with Trans am? if you make your appointments on time, no one should ever be hounded.

I agree. For the record, weekend dispatch pushing a driver seems odd unless they also have some stake in getting the driver their next load. Still seems odd to me.

It seemed a little strange to us as well, since my husband has been on time every time he possibly could, and has notified dispatch with plenty of time if he wasn't able to be which has only happened several times. He flat out asked his fleet manager if there was something about him in the computer or something that made people think he needed babysat  His FM has absolutely no issues with him though, which makes it all the more strange. Besides, even pushing, 10 times in 45 minutes is crazy.

Tell them that every time they call him that is buisness related and that restarts his off duty time. That should make it stop.

I told my husband what you said and he said he just might try that next time! Hopefully there won't be a next time though. He hasn't had any trouble like that with them since he talked with his FM.

My husband is in Gary, IN tonight, he rolls shortly to get into Lansing, MI by 7, then also delivers to Detroit by 12. After that they will almost have to head him back this way since he's due home on Friday.

My husband picked up a load north of Detroit Tuesday morning. After that he had to sit until Wednesday morning because he was out of hours.
That load delivered in Lubbock, TX this afternoon. Currently he's sitting in Lubbock out of hours. He has to swap a couple trailers for TransAm in the morning, and then he will be headed this way. He's home until early Wednesday morning! I'm excited to get to see him for a while this time, especially since our tax refund is scheduled to come in tomorrow, so we will have errands that need done.

Boy, he sure does seem to always be out of hours

 Several things contribute to that in my opinion. First of all, he's not "creative" logging at all. Secondly, they're running him hard and heavy every minute he can basically. Thirdly, they don't "encourage" 34 hour resets except using hometime and time at terminals. So usually by the time he's been out from here over a week he's waiting on hours once in a while. He ended up taking a 34 hour reset the week we went to see him in Abilene, but that was just the way the cards fell so to speak, not planned. So sitting on Tuesday, and sitting in Abilene for 34 hours was the extent of this trips sitting, and he was out 3 1/2 weeks. So I don't guess it's really much different than the ones who take 34's, but I think personally it would be simpler to just allow him to push hard, take a 34, and push hard again.

Well i see you haven't posted any thing since November. I was wondering how your husbands driving job with transam was going cause here is some info for you. Transam does NOT have garenty home time they will mess with your pay check so keep how many mile you run a week and the trip # and trip pack # you send to them how much you payed a lumper and try to keep a copy of the receipt the lumper gives you or they will say didn't get a lumper receipt in the trip pack and wont reinberst u for the lumper MOST of there dispatches are IDIOTS and any one that has ALE BLISS for a fleet manager needs to shake him loose and try to get another fleet manager. Oh and don't ever run out of drive hours on your logs even if you still have plenty of time to get the load dropped on time when you regain hours cause they (the dispatch) will tell u to drive over your logs and good luck or they will tell you to get out of the truck and you will be terminated. The first 2 months of Transam is great you would think you found a great company to drive for. I worked for the FAC transam out of rocky mount NC and for there big fleet in olathe ks and they both treat the drivers badly.. yes you do talk to Johnny the owner of Transam one on one during orientation and he said to the hole class his drivers make him $$$ and every one else there cost him $$$$ and they can be replaced but that's not true either cause when you go talk to him about the dispatch or fleet managers he says it will be looked in to AH YEA RIGHT (NOT)!!! If Transam is so good to work for then why do they have orientation every week hiring new drivers to take the place of the ones they drive off do to they don't know how to treat the drivers..Well i wish your husband the best but he for sure isn't working for the best or even close to it. I wouldn't recommend ANY ONE WORK FOR TRANSAM they say alot of lies but that is it!!!
