yes we lost our EZpass and it SUCKS. not going to argue with you there.
those trucks are high mileage trucks prepped for sale, not sure how many they are selling but it's got to be in the hundreds, same scene at Indy and Joplin. Terry how do you like things at ATS? things are laughable/sad here at TMC. |

What was that basis for dropping the EZ Pass? Many states discount the rates and the drivers were paying the fees anyway.
Are your $ to truck still sucking? $1300 revenue last week, clutch burned up, spent half the week fighting with road repairs and shops to get it fixed, finally limped the damn thing to Indy empty, left it there, and got into a new truck. reminded FM twice because I knew he would forget my breakdown pay, sure enough, $371 paycheck this week. $2550 revenue/3 loads this week. deadheaded home 322 miles after sitting in SE PA all day, unpaid, of course. advised FM I will be looking for a new job over the weekend. I haven't hauled 5 loads in a week yet in 2009, yet due to their performance based pay scale, I am being punished for not making any money... by making less money. I am having hard time taking this company seriously at this point. |
So are you required to haul 5 loads a week as part of your performance pay package? So, If the company isnt coming up with the freight you are the one that is at fault? Do I have that right?

I am hoping things pick up with my new truck, I hauled 3 back to back $900 loads shortly after getting it... my first '06 379 was awesome, then they gave me a newer '06 last service, that truck was cursed and downright dangerous to drive, never made any money with it and transmission would always jump out of gear. the clutch failing was the last straw, I give my FM some credit, he went to bat for me and got me into an '07 with low miles, which is a much nicer truck. geared different too, a little faster pulling hills. turns 1360 at 65. though in general, if I was as bad at my job as my FM is at his, I'd get fired. I could deal with this lifestyle if the money was the same as last year at this time. like I told my FM Friday... I have my degree, never thought I would be doing this for a living, came to this company to make money, yet have never made as little money as I have with this company. just getting sick of his "lol everything bad always happens to you" attitude, it's time to get serious. |
You have had 3 trucks already? I would be mad just because I had to keep moving my stuff.

Just my personal experience. I have now been with TMC for a year and a half. Last week I traded in my 387 for a nice little 388. I like it and I am cautiously optimistic that it will be a good truck. That 387 was a lemon, strange because the first 387 I had was great, oh well, welcome to truck driving. Anyway, my overall experience has been a positive one, yeah things slowed down when the economy blew up, but it seems to be much better now. My next load usually hits my quallcomm within 15-30 min after sending in my empty. My FM is great and honestly seems to care. I haven't seen a $200 check since Jan or Feb and I really didn't see many of those, my current checks are doing fine. So I'm trying to find something to complain about, so you guys will believe I'm actually a truck driver, but I just can't seem to think of anything. That's OK, Terry can vouch for me.
Terry, glad to hear you're doing OK, you're one of the good guys on this planet. Sorry your MA school didn't pan out yet. |
I prefer to swap trucks as opposed to waiting for lengthy repairs.
hauled a load for 6 bucks a mile today, loading for Canada now, we'll see what this week brings. |
I've heard some really bad things about TMC. I thought about applying to them. but I don't want to be treated like what i have been reading here... and it really is a trick to find some company with people you can work with...

if you keep a low profile they aren't bad. just run hard (economy permitting) follow the rules and run safe.
sure they have done some unfair things to other drivers, but over the last year they have been fair to me, revenue issues aside. my FM and safety guy aren't my best friends, but no one has outright disrespected me. |
