Fred, how the heck are you?!....Hope things are going well for you and before I forget, Merry Xmas! This has been a very tough year, but TMC has prevailed. With some very careful planning and an excellent game plan along with a little bit of luck we are on course for a great 2009 and I feel much more confident then I did this time last year. I think you will see some major players collapse within the first few months which is never a good thing, but so goes life in the corporate world. We are seeing record numbers of rehires coming back which is fantastic.

What have you been up too? Did you go back into sales? How's the plating business, etc, etc?

Well if it isn't Fladbed Fred. Last I heard, you were at a Toyota dealership, in sales I believe. Hows that going. I truly miss your highly informative and positive posts around here. Rawlco is doing an excellent job though. I would love to meet you guys some day. It is always good to hear positive things from positive people.

I'm just sittin' back, listening to you all, trying to learn as much as I can.

Thanks for dropping by and best of luck in the new year.

It can be hard to get out of Texas once you are in. Flatbed freight is slow everywhere. I wish you the best of luck though!

I didn't have anything to do Thursday or Friday. My local Home Depot store which usually takes 3 loads per week this time of year only took one last week. They did tell me that the gift type sets of tools and stuff has been moving though.

I got a load out of Texas. Granted, I had to drive to Memphis to get it.....

I got an oversize load of steel out of Decatur but have been waiting all day for permits. I knew the load was oversize since Fri, apparently not the case with my fleet manager.

thing that pisses me off is that I would have made a killing had I run the rest of last week. I had plenty of hours and $3200 to the truck as of Wed morning. actually not a bad week considering the layover pay, but I like to work, not sit. the way this week is going I might not even get a restart in before I get to go home for Christmas.

I live in Austin, TX and almost never had a hard time getting out of Texas. Every once in a while I might get caught in a cycle where I would remain in Texas. I raised a stink with my FM and I was out the next week. Your best bet is to be willing to take a long run out of the state on Monday with the chance of not getting back by Friday. Rarely, did I not get back.

Hey Terry,

Just wondering how your business was going? Do you ever miss driving? Thanks for all the great info over the year.
