I was really worried that you changed from being a complete fool. Thank god I was wrong.

So y'all, this is how it goes. His shortness comes on the thread, makes a complete fool of himself, gets spanked by the other posters, then slithers away back to being again unfortunate.

Von, thanks for sharing. Linehaul must be different than dedicated. I was able to get home a few nights each week, and was never discouraged not too.

I do remember the terminal off exit 24. Was it Milk Transport? MTI? I remember all the cabovers running across 80, and know where the terminal is there.

Like mentioned above, if you choose to stay out for a few weeks at a time, they will run you farther, which isnt much different than longhaul, because they can get you home every two weeks also. About once a month or so, id stay out 2 weeks. Sometimes you get lucky, and make better $$, and other times you just have a reg linehaul week, but spend the weekend somewhere else.

if I were driving past my place and had the time, I would have a hard time not stopping. better sleep in my own bed, don't see a downside to that. either way it sounds like this could be a good thing.

that's right. my uncle ran it into the ground. good news, if any, is that he is facing federal charges in the matter. we had a good account doing outside work like I said, did a lot for Zumstein and got on board with Roehl. live and learn, I got my CDL there and learned a lot. for some reason I don't miss the cabovers :D

I could ramble for hours about our company, I'll try to stick to TMC on this thread. if nothing lucrative comes along in the next few weeks I'll very likely be applying.

hello again everyone. i have been busy traveling. i would go back to TMC if i wasnt doing what i am doing now. I guess they are making some changes but i doubt that they have changed much. i still get emails from my old FM about the silly crap that people do and policies (some dont make much sense, but im not the owner). anyway, i wanted to say hello to everyone that is still at the company and to those who have moved on. especially to gary (NC_trucker, Goldie, Von, Cable, Rawlco and the rest. dont feel bad if i left you out :)

As the time elapses from my last day, I get farther away from the "rumor" loop. As my FM was very new, he was hesitant to confirm or deny any of the rumors that I had heard. I would hope that the company makes good decisions, now and in the future. One would hope that TMC, always known as a drivers company, would continue that policy.

What's TMC's status today? Starting to hear some rumors they might be bringing their drivers back to terminals. Any truth? Or just more driver talk. I've heard it from several now, so I'm thinking it's the current rumor of the day.

I do know that one big 600+ truck outfit up in Michigan, shut their doors today. This fuel issues is gonna smoke a lot of companies, including some big boys.

I am hearing the SAME THING TF here also. Heard that one of the MEGAS is close to bankrupt due to fuel costs. Also one of the ones I drove for in the 90's is going under called fuel costs are killing carriers very fast they are based out of WI another one I was with near were I live now folds this week. We are looking at maybe 25-40% of ALL the trucking companies folding simply do to 3 factors 1 HIGH fuel costs. 2 LOW Freight rates and 3rd High driver turnover rates instead of treating drivers like crap and spending 6K-8K to get a new driver into a truck spend 2K find out what is wrong and keep the current ones you have and fix the issues.
