yes sometimes if there no lumper, 8yr ago they would pay 60.00 to the drver to unload the trk. the low wage was to try to keep drivers from unloading if they did not need to. pay may have changed but im sure swift driver will need to unload trk. may only be one or two a year as most places have lumpers.

Through you. Every company is different. One company I worked for had me go to a TS and dispatch would forward money there for me to pick up to pay them .. or use a comcheck .... or another company made me carry enough money to pay the lumper and the office would pay me back on my paycheck. Your company will tell you how to handle it.

Some of them do. Those on Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar are 100% driver unload. I'm not sure how the OTR guys handle stuff, but I don't think they unload much.

In Canada, Lumpers charge on a per container basis. The costs range anywhere from $100 per container to $350 per container. Lumpers probably take home about $16 - $25 per hour based on the amount of work they complete in a given day. It all depends on company bases.
