I worked for them for a short period, basically did my training with them and split. Their fleet consists of about 200 company drivers and 50 o/o.

Top scale for experienced drivers is $.39/mi. They run a lot of NE. You will get a $.06/mi. bonus (loaded miles) for running certain NE states and $.10/mi. for others. I believe per diem is included in the pay. They pay practical miles.

They also have a regional run if you don't like running NE. Most of the drivers that I met there said that the $$ is in running NE.

They stress safety and compliance big time. THey have had problems in the past and have incurred huge fines. Too many mistakes on your logs and you'll be canned. They use Qualcomm for communication with dispatch, safety, etc.

Their equipment is not impressive. Bare bones Freightliners and Internationals.

When I was there the turnover rate was 103%.

Baylor is a decent company ( better than most ) in my eyes.
Like Colts fan said they stress safety which is another positive ( won't be told to run illegal ).
I spoke to one former Baylor driver who wished he never left.

BOL to you.

Baylor stays east of the Mississippi. In fact, you won't get much further west than Chicago. They have a big account out of Bolingbrook hauling HD TV's for Circuit City.

By buddy used to work there. He said while he was healthy, it was a great company, but he fell out the back of a trailer and hurt his shoulder pretty bad, and he said after that, they treated him like shit. Like they were trying to make him quit, which he did. I dont quite understand the whole story but thats all I know of them.
Just dont get hurt.

He probably collected Worker's Comp on them-- all these companies will ditch you as soon as you settle with worker's comp board for your lost wages- after you 'settle' the company is clear- because now it's too late for you to sue them/workers comp. They will dump you fast. BECAUSE YOU JUST COST THEM MONEY
