Back on the road for me
 Been running local for the last year and decided to get back on the road, if you're driving for money, might as well make as much as you can. Sold all my gear, now got to re-group and get more, looking at a few companies that pay decent,.38 to .40cpm and decent home-time, I'll post again when I decide where I'm going, looking at Knight, Millis, Barr-Nunn, and even thought about going back to Schneider or Crete, any suggestions from anyone?

I drove for Crete for 6 months and thats all I ever want from them, never got but a very few good nights sleep because of optimize idle and if you want some bennies from them you have to buy them, like Pre pass, locks, straps and the worse dispatchers I've ever worked for, when I got there some of the old timers ( the few that was left) told me that it wasn't the company it use to be and I had always heard that it was jam up, but ,like I said it only took me 6 months to know that I didn't want any more, right now I could go back to Crete @ .43 cpm but, I'm leaning real hard towards BARR- NUNN @ .40cpm, been talking to them almost a year now and to some of their drivers and no real bad issues to worry about, not bashing Crete or anything, I'm sure there are a lot of happy drivers there, good runs, good dispatchers, it just didn't fall in place for me there. Goog luck to all and God bless.

Sounds like some of the reasons why both my fiancee and myself will be leaving Crete.
After 2 weeks of running midwest regional freight, and being told by my terminal to get used to it, because the lenght of haul will be getting shorter. the camel's back has been broken.
And of course, I cannot get on the mid south regional, since I live just out side the "hiring" area, and golly, I might be able to get home more then once every 4 to 5 weeks.

You might want to check out Barr-Nunn, you can get their web site from here, I checked them out, compared them to lots of companies and they had a lot to offer that I was looking for( except pets in the truck) well, if I have to follow one and can't get it clean and no smell, all I can say is I was looking when I found this job.
