Default Cowan Systems

Anyone work for or hear anything about Cowen Systems?
They have an ad in Concord, NH. Says .50/mile, no touch freight, no
grocery warehouse. Home weekends. Web site says .40/mile. Nothing
about benefits. I see they're based out of Maryland.
Looked at safersys.... about 1200 drivers, hauling beverages & containers.
Any info appreciated.

probably won't help any, but they're constantlyin Williamsburg, Va hauling beer. When i was with CCC, Cowan had just about as many trailers dropped in Va. as we did.

They probably do pay .50 mile , it's probably a drop and hook dedicated account , maybe home everyday or nightly . Some of there major accounts include sweetheart cups , coca cola and costco warehouse . I would call and find out more , it's not a bad deal from what I've heard .

Cowan is a very good Northeast regional company based out of Baltimore. Heads and tails above JB, Heartland, and all those other $hitbag medium-haul outfits. Nice equipment, hourly pay, lots of dedicated. I believe they guarantee you 48 hours home per week, which is damned good. A Duie Pyle is another one to hitch your wagons to. They're NorthEast LTL but I think they want like 5 years experience.

Thank you all. I was curious because I haven't seen to many of their trucks around and all I do is run the North East. I wanted to get some info here first because those recruiters can make it all sound like a sweet deal. When I see .50/mile with no mention of miles, I get suspicious.

I don't like em. They were/are the first company to ever turn me down because they said i had too many jobs in too short a time period. Something like 27 jobs in 13 years or something like that.

No company has ever turned me down because of that.

I don't like their trucks either.

Anybody know if Cowan hires new drivers fresh out of school? I just got my CDL last week and I'd like to get my start with a decent company.
