I'm getting desperate
I don't have job. I'm sick and tired of sitting around here doing nothing. I'm sick of looking for that "dream" local job. I've searched about knight's 4 on 4 off fleet but was wondering who else has fleets like that. My girlfriend and I are working things out and I need to be home more than once every 2-3 weeks. Please don't recommend gordon's home run fleet. I don't want to drive for them anymore. Nuff said...
Let's hear it...

I have a job running containers out of Stockton open right now. RUNS FROM STOCKTON CA RAMP TO RED BLUFF CA AND RENO NV. AND ALSO TO LA AREA AND BACK.
Its not home everyday but should get you home quite a bit. There is a local version of this run too that isnt open right now. However, once on the regional version it would be pretty easy for you to transfer into the local version once the truck came open.
Interested? PM me.

According to their website UPS Freight is hiring in Oakland and two terminals in Sacramento. Excellent pay and bennies including a pension. You can only apply online and dont bother unless you already have doubles and hazmat endorsement.

Local jobs
I see you live in Sacramento, not far from me. Railys is there, Longs drug in woodland pays very well. I was driving a 3hr. round trip to Tracy working at Safeway, there always hiring and Costco is next door to them. I drive to Modesto now to Winco Foods, and to me Winco is the Golden Grail of trucking Jobs. Look in the Sacbee, You have so many choices around your area. Good Luck ! C-YA 8)

I noticed you were getting you hazmat in the other forum...there are usually a handful of fuel haulers that hire almost all the time. About two years ago, i know Beneto was starting out at 19/hr and they were hiring straight out of driving schools
A co-worker of mine drove for Ozark (Raley's) for about 20 years. He said it was a great job especially after you get a little seniority. United Natural Foods, in Rocklin is usually hiring too. They have a four day work week and start out at around $17.49 i think, and as far as I know they are not too hard to get on with. I tried to get on with them, but during my "driving/backing test" i took too long to get it in the hole and they told me to get some experiences and try again. I probably would have went back but i like where i am at now, and i only drive maybe 4 miles to work.
I work for a paving company, driving a transfer truck, and we are really starting to pick back up for the summer, even though it never really slowed down too much for us. We were only slow for a couple weeks when it was raining, but it has rained much at all this year. It's not really too bad of a job if you can find a place that pays alright.
Another route you might try is to call some of the placement agencies. Alot of them only recruit for permanent / full-time work. I know its the only way to get on with some companies around here. A couple that come to mind are TLC Logistics and Clear Point Staffing.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Well, I guess I just needed to post something about not having a job to actually get called back! This morning I wake up and got a call from Bettendorf Trucking asking me to come in tomorrow @ 1pm for a test drive. It was my #1 choice and I'm so excited. I just want to get back in a truck and they are all Petes and KW's. They have wood chips from the Sierra Pacific lumber factory in Lincoln to all over northern california. THey have terminals in oregon and washing too and best of all, I'll be home every night.
All I gotta do is get past the test drive tomorrow. They are all 10spds so I'll be fine but I'm still nervous.
Wish me luck,
Chris

i just started a job with a company here in florida hauling potting soil, wood chips and what not, you can't find much easier work than a walking floor, just pop in the PTO and let it walk off, you just sit in the seat and watch it fall out, good luck with it, and believe me you'll probably enjoy the aspect of being home every night, i wouldn't trade it for anything.

Could you elaborate as to why you don't want to be with Gordon anymore?

Its hard to find the right company, but once you do, you better be smart enough to stay.
