If Martian takes new, inexperienced drivers, then i would go with them all the way without hesitation.

Default Marten

Marten takes a limited number of inexperienced drivers. They have a short list of schools from which they will accept graduates. They don't post this list, so you have to call to see if your's qualifies. Otherwise, they require at least one year of experience. BOL2U

Considering that I have a healthy hatred for food warehouse and the jerks that work in them as a rule....I never want anything to do with "food", and I really don't want to pull a trailer with an engine on it......

Actually.... from where you live, CFI would be your best bet or one of the best. Frankly I have heard good things about Marten....but they go to food warehouses, and they are a reefer company.... sorry folks...but I have zero use for the two....

Anyway, CFI has even a NE regional fleet, and they pay an additional 5 cents per dispatched mile in the 12 NE states. The miles....all of them are paid as practical miles....not hhg short miles where you drive 10 to 15% more miles than you get paid for.

Me..... I drove for them 7 years, and liked it. The only reason that I don't now is that my "personal circumstances" changed and I have to be much closer to home....so I made a change.

You can search this site for information on CFI and you will get plenty of it. If you have any questions....post them here, or call 1-800-641-4748 and ask for Christine Lathan in Recruiting....and you can hop over to http://www.cfidrivers.com and log on and read about CFI from drivers who are there....new ones and old hands.... 8)

If I had it to do over again, and needed to go to school, and didn't have the cash to pay for it, I would go to Schneider and put in my 12 or 18 months. Ten years ago, I went to a free (?) driving school, The School of Hard Knocks.

My first driving job was with C.R. England. My second was with Marten. After a while I couldn't tell the difference, so I quit and I've been with Crete ever since (going on 7 years).

Had a friend at CFI, enjoyed it, done a lot of NE, but was happy, got involved a a fatality, not his fault, no tickets, CFI gave great support, he didn't work for 2 months, they offered all sorts of support to him, Schneider, I worked for them 3 years....Have nothing to say other than, if you like driving for a company who can only see you and treat you as a "bum in a seat" then go for them, Marten, heard several times that as a company, they are ok.
1) CFI
2) Marten
3) Schneider

I now drive for Koch trucking, out of Minneapollis, been there a month, all good so far, but then it's always like that at all new starts!
B.O.L. where ever you go. 8)
