I would imagine the training is top notch since they're owned by Crete. If you haven't been to their website, click here or you can click the link in my sig and then click on Hunt Transportation near the bottom of the page. Good luck!

A lot of it is going to depend on how and from whom you got your CDL.
Crete is picky about the schools it will accept.

I WORKED FOR HUNT TRANSPORTATION FOR A WHILE. THEY ARE A GOOD COMPANY BUT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STARTING IN FLATBED. LEARN HOW TO DRIVE FIRST. THEN IF YOU DECIDE YOU WANT FLATBED--CALL CHRIS IN RECRUITING--FIRST CLASS GUY

I have been to the web site and talked to recruiting all I need to do is tell them when I want to go. I live in mid Michigan and wonder how home time will be? I need to stay in shape that is one reason for flatbeds.
I am a pipe-fitter at Delphi so I am use to heavy lifting, and hard work.

I was talking to a Hunt driver in our KC terminal and he was making madd loot $ lately...

He was getting runs back and forth from Yuma, AZ to somewhere in FL.

Good luck.

YOU MUST STAY OUT FOR TWO WEEKS MINIMUM AT A TIME.. THEY DO NOT HAVE A HOMETIME POLICY THAT SAYS 1 DAY OFF FOR SEVEN DAYS OUT..IT IS UP TO YOUR FLEET MANAGER. YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM AT LEAST SEVEN DAYS NOTICE OF WHEN YOU WANT TO BE HOME.. THE ONLY REASON I SAID TO NOT START IN FLATBED AT FIRST IS THAT THERE IS ENOUGH TO CONCENTRATE ON JUST LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE. WITH FLAT BED YOU HAVE TO KEEP A CONSTANT EYE ON YOUR LOAD AND THAT CAN BE A DISTRACTION FOR NEW DRIVERS..

aysocoach - see my comment in the other Hunt Transportation thread about the answer to your question "How's this company for training?". I wish I knew how to quote on one of these replies. I see guys doing it all the time, but I don't know how. Anyways....

Crete_drvr said he was talking to a Hunt driver who was making lots of $$$. I made a little under $50,000 with them just in my first year. And a fair amount of my time just starting out was figuring out strategic placements of my tiedowns. I made most of my money after I got comfortable with knowing where I wanted to put a strap or a chain without thinking about it forever, which allowed me to spend more time driving.

neverbeenlate is right about no set hometime policy. This is partly what makes them so great. This allows them to be flexible without breaking some silly "policy", and I never had a problem getting home.[/quote]

Type [quotex] before the text and [/quotex] after. Take out the x, type everything else exactly the same including the brackets.
