Default XX Freight - an end to lease programs?

I ran across this site, http://xxfreight.com/index.html , and the idea of owning the truck for the pay seems pretty good.

I thought to get some ideas about this program, and see if anyone know the company...

Got some more info.

Called the company, and was told the following:
Still looking for people who worked for this company.....

Are there any other companies that offer something like this?

I'm no expert by any means but reading around the site this is what I gather into my feeble brain

    Driver:

    Pros
    ---------
    .40 per mile
    own truck after 2 years

    Cons
    ---------
    .40 per mile
    Maintenance costs
    forced dispatch
    no escrowed taxes
    no benefits IE: health insurance

    Company

    Pros
    ------------
Employee is a private contractor therefor no TAX headaches
No benefits to pay for employee
No maintenance costs on the truck
re-lease the truck again if driver leaves early

    Cons
    -----------
If the driver completes 2 yrs they have to buy a new truck

Seems to me the Pros far out weigh the cons for the company more than they do for the driver. Unless someone else wants to chime in here with something I missed?

BOO thumbs down to this lease!

If you want to be an O/O, save up your money and buy a truck from a dealer. If this means eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich instead of that $15 buffet, than so be it.

If your credit is all messed up, get it together. Contact http://www.lexingtonlaw.com/ for help if you need it. I have been working with them for 9 months and my credit score has jumped up over 100 points, so they are legit.

Even though this company is the first I have seen doing this, I doubt it's the first that did it.

Any other companies offering the same? Or something close?

Very good advise. I was just curious about this type of program....have you seen this with other companies?

Well, the site states that health benifits are available. However, your right, more pro's for the company than driver.

And the pay is alittle low. I guess it's to compenisate for them paying for the fuel.....still low, though. :?

I too was curious about this and emailed them. They told me exactly what you mentioned except that the program was normally 3 years but in certain circumstances it can be only 2 years. They also said that their trucks (only 2 available at this time) are 1999 Freightliner FLD and a 2000 Freightliner Century both with 700,000 and 800,000 miles on them.

I emailed back and asked for more info on the trucks.....response: 1999 & 2000

Yea...the trucks leave alot to be desired..... :? Suppose to have a new inframe overhaul after a year... some parts not included in that overhaul... injectors, water pump, parts like that NOT included...

      Still wondering about other companies.........
