Lawsuit-Stevens vs. John Christner Trucking
The local company I work for hired a new driver who was a fleece operator at Stevens. He teamed with his wife and when he finally woke up and got smart (his words), they turned their truck in at Stevens at the Dallas yard.
He and his wife, after all the paper work was processed, were escorted upstairs to the owners suite (his words) and were interrogated as to why they were leaving and were they going to work for John Christner.
Apparently some recruiters and those in higher positions at Stevens had defected to Christner and Stevens had started some kind of legal action against Christner for "stealing" drivers.
To sum up, he and his wife were not going to Christner and were leaving Stevens for personal reasons, the main one being they were going broke and wanted to change before they lost their house.
Does anyone have further info on this? If so, it could be interesting.

Isn't this like this rumor that Stevens would call the drivers lounges of JB Hunt terminals? ( I probably misnamed both companies)
Now that is low, neglecting the legalities of it

There is some truth to the CRST / JB Hunt lawsuit.

Well, its sounds a bit "playground" how Stevens acted. Of course, to be escorted to the management may imply it wasn't a smooth transition leaving the company. They also weren't making money, which I'm sure never plays with people's emotions 8)
ie: Don't tell disptach you have a knife in your pocket when you're upset.

The cards thing is funny. I was walking across the truckstop parking lot and one of those recruiter guys came up to me and said "hi" and handed me a card. He then asked me who I currently run for and I said "Marten". He then said that "I'm not even going to try, have a good day" and walked away.

Good luck with them trying to prove they "Lured" the drivers and if they did so what?

I work for a small company and one of our drivers son went threw school and then to Stevens. After training and driving on his own for a few weeks he was not making very much money, I guess you could say he was starving. Anyway are company does not hire students so the boss was going to give him a try since his dad works here and he had already quit Stevens. Safety sent a request to Stevens to verify employment and Stevens sent a threatening letter back saying they would seek legal action if we hired him because he had a contract for a year (he had already quit). My boss said screw Stevens. Well the driver ended up taking a local job in Dallas. Some company's suck and Stevens is one of these company's. Stevens should have kept the guy busy and paid a decent wage.
