Supervalu
Has a big hub about 25 miles from here. Applied there once and wasn't called back, wondering if I should try again? I never hear anyone on this board talk about them. They are one of the largest grocery wholesalers in the country, some one on this board has to work for them! Any thoughts?

Don't work for them but talk to alot of their drivers(we unload at some of the same stores) Union job, extra board until you bid a run, good pay and benefits. This is what I am told though.

Dont know much about them, But my pops has been with Albertsons for 18 years now. As you know SuperValu bought them out recently, and most grocery haulers make great money specialy if thier union. Albertson drivers in CA make around 70-80k a year home everynight with two days off.

Yeah that's what I've heard. I heard that rookie Supervalu drivers in this area make like $60,000 starting out, and top out in the 80s.
There was some talk of them trying to break the union (heard this from one of their drivers) by bringing in contractors. I'm not sure if there was any truth to this, this was almost two years ago now. Maybe I'll put my app in again for the hell of it.

around here the grocery hauls all start as extra drivers on call 24/7. Average pay is about 30k to start with no benifits. Takes about 2 years to get on a regular run. After that they average around 50k a year.

7 months before I have 1 year exp. Yes they do put you on call, you call in at 6 am and 6 pm. This will last around a year or two, but you start off with full bennys and top out at like 23 an hr after 2 years i believe.
